Please note, there are transaction fees when paying your taxes
on-line. Before finalizing your payment you will be asked to agree
to the fee amount. No fee is charged or retained by the Collector,
her office or Morgan County. Other businesses pay this fee from the
profit of a sale, however, there is no profit in collecting taxes,
therefore, according to RMSo 139.055 passed in 2005, the cost is
charged only to those that choose to pay by electronic method.
Fees are set as follows: $2.75 flat fee per transaction for eChecks,
$3.95 flat fee for Visa Signature Personal Debit Card and
3.0% of payment amount for all Credit and non-Visa Debit Cards.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO PAY TAXES ON-LINE:
1. CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD NUMBER / CHECKING ACCOUNT AND ROUTING NUMBER
2. ACCOUNT NUMBER OR PARCEL NUMBER / TAXPAYER ID (PIN NUMBER) / BILL
NUMBER
We recognize our obligation to keep information secure and
confidential, therefore, we are not offering name look-up at this
time. Searching by Taxpayer ID is the best method as it will group
multiple bills and types together that have been assigned to your
unique ID number. Your Taxpayer ID is located in the upper right
corner of your tax statement. If you do not have your tax statement,
you may call the Collector’s office to obtain your Taxpayer ID.
Please confirm that all property is listed correctly and completely
before paying. The ID you use may not include all tax bills you wish
to pay. Click
HERE for more details
describing each search mode.
Paid receipts will be mailed to the address on the tax bill
within 7 working days. If you are needing an immediate receipt to
license a vehicle, check with the license bureau you will be doing
business with to see if they will accept on-line payment
confirmation and the "unofficial" detailed tax bill printed from
this website. You will need to PRINT BOTH DOCUMENTS in the payment
process to present to the license bureau.
The functionality of the on-line payment process relies on several
systems and electronic devices; therefore, the availability of the
on-line payment system cannot be guaranteed at all times. The Morgan
County Collector’s Office encourages taxpayers wishing to pay their
taxes on-line to do so in a timely manner before midnight December
31. Any tax payment not received by the due date will be subject to
applicable late penalties, interest and fees.
